Job Summary:
Reporting to the SBA Loan Processing Manager, the incumbent is responsible for information preparation, compilation and verification, loan documentation, and closing SBA, USDA, and 504 CRE loans including construction related projects. Incumbent is also responsible for post-closing documentation and management of the disbursement process.
Pay Range:
Base Compensation is dependent upon role, experience, and skill set: Min- $59,565/yr Max- $99,275/yr
Primary Responsibilities:
- Determine and prepare documentation package per the credit authorization for approved and accepted SBA/B&I loans according to established bank policies and procedures and in compliance with SBA Authorization and/or requirements
- On construction loans, monitor construction process in-house or through Construction Funds Control
- Ensure all requirements and documentation, including appropriate lien releases, are obtained prior to funding draws
- Communicate with borrower, escrow and/or title companies insurance agents, and other parties directly involved in all aspects of loan closing, to obtain required documentation and verifications prior to closing. Resolve issues prior to loan closing.
- Review preliminary reports and UCC searches to determine collateral position. Effect collateral lien, ensuring lien position is per credit authorization prior to loan closing.
- Prepare and submit SBA application package for SBA approval: pay guarantee fees to SBA. Subsequent to loan close, follow B&I Conditions of Guarantee are cleared and B&I Guarantee received.
- Assemble loan credit file per SBA Department standard.
- Review documentation post-closing to ensure all documents have been returned, are correctly signed, and do not contain unauthorized edits. Submit closed loan documents for boarding. Obtain authorization to disburse loan proceeds.
- Assist the SBA Documentation and Closing manager and other SBA staff as needed.
- Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four year college or university; or five years or more of SBA loan documentation and closing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- SBA loan closing experience is required. Good written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple loan transactions at a time. Have excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment. Be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Experience with LaserPro or other loan documentation software is required.
