JOB SUMMARY:
The AVP Underwriter will work with Bay View Funding’s Business Development Officers and is responsible for reviewing and approving new business factoring applicants.
PAY RANGE: Base Compensation is dependent upon role, experience, and skill set: Min- $56,565/yr Max- $99,275/yr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned
- Responsible for reviewing and approving new business factoring applicants.
- Performs credit analysis for both client and client’s customers to determine eligibility for factoring program.
- Works with Business Development officers, Private Label Clients and third party referral parties in reviewing, structuring and approving factoring facilities for prospective clients.
- Works directly with Credit Administrators to request and review results of due diligence, and prepare factoring documentation.
- Works with Portfolio Management to audit and confirm receivables for initial advance to new clients.
- Reviews various forms of third party loan documentation that may require subordination agreements.
- Negotiates and prepares subordination and/or creditor agreements with other institutions or tax authorities.
- Negotiates factoring documents with prospective clients which may include interacting with attorneys representing the prospective client and/or Bay View Funding.
- Assists Portfolio Management, as needed, to re-document existing client’s factoring facilities.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Minimum of seven years of related experience and/or training
- Effective communication skills in presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
- Proven time management and problem solving skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks

The employee is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of job related laws and regulations and must maintain current compliance knowledge by attending compliance related training seminars and staff meetings and by reading pertinent compliance related materials.
